Our approach
Sustainable management of our forests
To maintain and enhance the economic, social and environmental values of all types of forests, for the benefit of present and future generations”. Forests and trees, when sustainably managed, make vital contributions both to people and the planet, bolstering livelihoods, providing clean air and water, conserving biodiversity and responding to climate change.
Seedlings Production Management
To facilitate adoption of ‘Schools-Tree Nurseries’ and ‘Bio-carbon zones’ by corporate entities and parastatals; this will help the entities sequestrate their carbon foot-prints and acquire carbon credits as the world moves towards this direction in the next frontier of SDG’s and Paris Agreement.
Championing Afforesting and re-afforesting
We at MeForest have an aim of increasing the general forest cover in the country by seeking various stakeholders, networks and partnerships
Public education
Encourage public education for the public to ensure people are educated on the right species of trees to plant for a particular area/soil to ensure the highest survival rate.
Influencing Public Polices
Influence the national and county government administrative policies that will cater for the caretakers of the planted trees, and availability of water especially for public space.
Promote use of alternative fuels
To develop an alternative fuel and renewable energy resource network to build the technical and business capacity of entrepreneurs through infomermal and formal strategic support.
Green ambassadors
The school children/ students will learn techniques of establishing a tree nursery, how to grow a tree and how to manage it. With this knowledge they will be able to take the awareness even to their homes and communities in general, to increase the impact in the micro and macro levels.
